Mediaan
A typeface based on a systematic reworking of Matthew Carter's Galliard, a serifed face derived from various designs by the 16th-century French punchcutter Robert Granjon and noted for its readability when set in long passages of text. The project entailed emphasizing the shapes of individual letterforms and adapting the characteristic attributes of Galliard - distinctive open counters and a basis in calligraphic writing - to develop a sans serif typeface for use at text sizes.
